On 05/27/2026, Moore police attempted to stop a vehicle in Moore before the driver continued driving southbound into Norman. Police used a tactical vehicle intervention maneuver near Interstate 35 and Main Street to end the pursuit. After the vehicle stopped, police reported that shots were fired during the encounter. Officers opened fire and killed the driver. Authorities did not immediately release the identity of the man or additional details about what led to the shooting after the pursuit ended. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was requested to investigate the incident.
