OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 06/02/2026, members of the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force attempted to serve an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon warrant at an apartment in the 1200 block of Redford Street in southeast Houston. Authorities stated the warrant originated from the Friendswood Police Department. Police reported that the man barricaded himself inside the apartment as officers attempted to take him into custody. A SWAT team responded and surrounded the residence while negotiators worked to resolve the situation. Authorities stated that the man's girlfriend and children were able to leave the apartment safely during the standoff. After several hours, Houston Police SWAT officers entered the apartment and found the man dead from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound. No officers fired their weapons. The incident remains under investigation.
