OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 06/04/2026, a Washington State Patrol trooper observed a vehicle traveling at more than 130 mph on SR-167 near SR-18 and attempted to stop it. The vehicle fled and a pursuit began. Moments later, the driver lost control on SR-18 near the I-5 and Enchanted Parkway interchange, struck a guardrail, rolled over, and collided with a pole. Four people were inside the vehicle. Two occupants died at the scene and two others were ejected and transported to Harborview Medical Center with critical injuries. Authorities reported that no PIT maneuver or other tactical vehicle intervention was used before the crash. Due to Washington State Patrol involvement, the Federal Way Police Department is conducting the crash investigation.
