OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 06/05/2026, West Chester Police responded to a 911 call reporting a woman screaming inside an apartment in the 9000 block of Zinnia Court. Officers made contact with a man and woman inside the residence and conducted an initial investigation. After speaking with the woman, officers forcibly entered the apartment. Body camera footage later released by Police Chief Brian Rebholz showed Lorenzo Miller holding a knife to the woman's neck inside a bathroom. Officers fired their weapons, striking Miller. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman suffered injuries that were described as non-life-threatening and was transported to UC Health West Chester Hospital before being released. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is conducting an independent investigation of the shooting.
