OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 06/03/2026, Orange County Sheriff's deputies responded to the 8200 block of Tivoli Drive after a caller reported a woman screaming in the street. Deputies located Rosalia Hodges inside her residence and attempted to make contact. According to Sheriff John Mina, Hodges answered the door holding a large knife. Deputies retreated toward the street and repeatedly ordered her to drop the weapon. Authorities reported that Hodges refused commands, repeatedly threatened to kill the deputies, and advanced toward them while armed with the knife. Three deputies then fired their service weapons, striking her. Hodges was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Sheriff Mina stated that Hodges had previously been the subject of Baker Act commitments in other Florida jurisdictions. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the shooting.
