OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY : On 06/07/2026, Upper Allen Township police responded to a report of shots fired at a residence on the 25 block of Oakwood Avenue in Mechanicsburg. According to investigators, Jeffrey Scott DeJesus fired at responding officers from inside the home. Officers returned fire, striking DeJesus. He was pronounced dead at the scene. One officer sustained a minor injury and was treated and released from a local hospital. The Pennsylvania State Police Major Case Team is leading the investigation at the request of the Cumberland County District Attorney's Office.
