On 06/09/2026, deputies with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit reportedly saw a suspected drug transaction on Meadowood Drive in Edgewood. Deputies attempted a traffic stop, and the driver fled. After a brief pursuit, the driver crashed into four other vehicles at Route 40 and Route 543. The vehicle caught fire, and the driver, who was trapped inside, died at the scene. Two other people were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Maryland Attorney General’s Independent Investigations Division responded to investigate.
