On 06/14/2026, officers with the North Richland Hills Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle, but the driver did not stop and continued driving, leading officers on a pursuit into Fort Worth. The pursuit ended after the vehicle lost control and crashed on Interstate 35W near Berry Street. Officers approached the vehicle and found the driver inside with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No law enforcement officers discharged their weapons during the incident. The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating the death, and the identity of the deceased has not been released.
