On 06/13/2026, Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a reported family disturbance at an apartment complex in the 900 block of E. Long Street. According to the sheriff's office, a man armed with a knife had assaulted a woman, who suffered injuries consistent with being cut. Deputies encountered the man outside the apartment. Authorities stated that deputies attempted to de-escalate the situation and issued commands before at least one deputy fired, striking the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The injured woman was transported to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. The Nevada Division of Investigation is conducting the investigation into the shooting.
