OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 06/13/2026, Surprise police officers responded to reports of a domestic violence incident near North Reems Road and West Greenway Road. According to police, officers learned that an adult man had fatally shot his father before fleeing the residence in a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and attempted to stop it. During the encounter, police reported that the man exited the vehicle while armed with a handgun. Officers fired, striking the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The father was found dead at the residence from gunshot wounds. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is conducting the investigation into the police shooting. Authorities have not released the identity of either deceased individual.
