OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 06/13/2026, members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force attempted to arrest two felony suspects at a Walgreens located at 105 West Road in Houston. According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, one suspect, a woman, was taken into custody without incident. The second suspect, an armed adult male, barricaded himself inside the business, prompting a standoff with law enforcement. During the incident, the man died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated that no law enforcement officers discharged their weapons and no officers were injured. Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased.
