On 06/15/2026, Chicago Police Department officers responded to the 4800 block of North Clark Street after reports of a fatal shooting. Police reported that a 63-year-old man was shot during an argument and later died at a hospital. Officers located the alleged gunman in the 1400 block of West Argyle Street. According to police, the man ran from officers on foot. Police reported that during the pursuit he turned and pointed a handgun toward officers, who fired their weapons, striking him. The man was transported to a hospital in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries. A firearm was recovered at the scene. The Civilian Office of Police Accountability is investigating the shooting.
