On 06/17/2026, Warren Police Department officers attempted to stop a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe in connection with a shooting investigation. The driver did not stop and continued driving, leading officers on a pursuit along U.S. 422. At approximately 9:40 a.m., the fleeing Hyundai entered the intersection at the State Route 5 bypass and struck a vehicle driven by 66-year-old Sandra Swann of Cortland. Swann was pronounced dead at the scene. The fleeing driver, 37-year-old Dominique Dorsey of Leavittsburg, and his passenger, 17-year-old Tyreese Douglas, sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital. Douglas was identified by police as a suspect in the shooting that prompted the pursuit. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal crash.
