On 06/18/2026, Warren Police Department officers attempted to stop a silver Dodge Ram after observing multiple occupants wearing ski masks while driving through residential neighborhoods. The driver did not stop and continued driving, leading officers on a pursuit. At approximately 1:58 a.m., the fleeing truck ran a red light at the intersection of 8 Mile Road and Schoenherr Road and struck a vehicle driven by 48-year-old Remeious Washington, who was pulling over for approaching emergency vehicles. Washington was transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. Five juveniles fled from the Dodge Ram after the crash, and four were apprehended. Police believe the group was responsible for at least 15 vehicle-related crimes reported in Warren during the previous 48 hours. The investigation remains ongoing.
