OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 06/19/2026, officers with the San Antonio Police Department responded to a domestic violence incident at a residence in the 100 block of Red Hawk Ridge. Police reported that a man forced entry into the home by shooting through a glass door, fatally shot his estranged wife, and then barricaded himself inside. As responding officers arrived, the man shot a police officer in the lower abdomen. The wounded officer was transported to a hospital, underwent surgery, and is expected to recover. SWAT officers and crisis negotiators responded, and the standoff continued for nearly three hours. When officers entered the residence, they found the man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Two children who were inside the home were safely removed and were not injured. Police recovered a handgun from the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
