On 06/18/2026, officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. Police located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver did not stop and continued driving, leading officers on a pursuit into North Las Vegas. The pursuit ended near East Lake Mead Boulevard and North Sloan Lane after the vehicle became disabled. According to police, the driver exited the vehicle while holding a firearm and did not comply with officers' commands to drop the weapon. Officers then fired, striking the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police recovered a firearm. The investigation remains ongoing.
