OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 06/19/2026, officers with the San Antonio Police Department responded to a domestic violence call at a residence in the 100 block of Red Hawk Ridge. According to police, a man forced entry into the home by shooting through a glass door and fatally shot his estranged wife. As officers responded, the man shot a responding officer in the lower abdomen before barricading himself inside the residence. SWAT officers and crisis negotiators responded, and the standoff lasted nearly three hours. Two children who were inside the home were safely removed and were not injured. When officers entered the residence, they found the man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police recovered a pistol from the scene. The wounded officer underwent surgery and is expected to recover. The investigation remains ongoing.
