On 06/19/2026, officers with the Lakeside Park-Crestview Hills Police Department responded to a residence in the 2800 block of University Circle to assist the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services. According to the Kentucky State Police, 37-year-old Daniel Bolinger exited the residence armed with a knife during the encounter. Officers shot Bolinger, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The Kentucky State Police are conducting the investigation, which is standard procedure following a fatal police shooting.
