On 06/20/2026, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to a report of a man armed with two knives near Lancaster Boulevard and Sierra Highway in an unincorporated area of Lancaster. During the encounter, the man stabbed a deputy. Deputies then fired, striking the man. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The deputy was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau is investigating the shooting.
