OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 06/23/2026, deputies with the Richland County Sheriff's Department attempted to stop a 2013 Kia Optima that police said had been stolen from a victim on Harlem Street. According to authorities, the driver, 74-year-old Frankie Doctor, continued driving after deputies attempted a traffic stop near Parklane Road and Two Notch Road. Police said the pursuit continued until Doctor drove northbound in the southbound lanes of Farrow Road and collided head-on with a 2025 Infiniti QX60 near the intersection of Farrow Road and Interstate 77. Doctor was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Infiniti was transported to a hospital with injuries.
