On 06/19/2026, officers with the St. Charles County Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had been reported stolen. According to police, the driver fled on foot and jumped from the Blanchette Bridge into the Missouri River while attempting to evade arrest. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate him. On 06/23/2026, emergency personnel recovered the man's body from the Missouri River near Jones Confluence Point Park. The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed the recovered body was the same man who had jumped from the bridge several days earlier. The investigation remains ongoing.
