On 06/22/2026, officers with the Lakewood Police Department responded to a domestic violence incident on Chesterland Avenue. Police said Stephen Davis fatally shot a woman inside the residence before remaining barricaded in the home. Officers established a perimeter and attempted to negotiate with Davis during the standoff. After entering the residence, police found Davis dead from what authorities reported was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation remains ongoing.
