OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 06/18/2026, officers with the Mankato Department of Public Safety attempted to stop Jordan Michael Donahue after he failed to stop for police. The pursuit ended at an apartment complex in St. Peter, where Donahue fired a shotgun, striking Saint Peter Police Officer Austin Buss in the arm. Nicollet County Sheriff's Sergeant Dustin Struckman and Officer Buss returned fire. Following an extended standoff, officers deployed a drone into the apartment and found Donahue dead from a gunshot wound. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension recovered a shotgun and is investigating the shooting. Authorities have not stated whether Donahue died from police gunfire or a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
