OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 06/29/2026, Delaware State Police troopers responded to the 100 block of East Cherry Drive in Magnolia, Delaware, for a reported domestic incident. While responding, troopers learned that 37-year-old Kristopher Glanden was reportedly suicidal, armed with a handgun, and attempting to enter the residence of his ex-partner, where other family members were sheltering. Troopers encountered Glanden in the front yard and issued repeated commands. During the encounter, Glanden pointed a handgun at the troopers, and two troopers fired, striking him. Troopers rendered first aid until EMS arrived, but Glanden was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators recovered a loaded 9mm handgun. The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting, and the involved troopers have been placed on administrative leave pending a use-of-force investigation conducted in conjunction with the Delaware Department of Justice's Division of Civil Rights and Public Trust.
