According to the Houston Police Department, officers attempted to stop an allegedly stolen vehicle, but the driver failed to stop, leading officers on a pursuit that reached speeds of approximately 120 mph. The chase ended when the vehicle struck a curb and crashed on the Highway 6 overpass at the Westpark Tollway. After the crash, the passenger exited the vehicle and ran into traffic, where they were struck by an oncoming Houston Police Department patrol vehicle and died at the scene.
