OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 07/05/2026, a Georgia State Patrol trooper attempted to stop a Chrysler 300 traveling southbound on Interstate 75 near Jonesboro Road in Clayton County at approximately 6:45 a.m. The driver continued driving, leading troopers into Henry County. The vehicle exited at Eagles Landing Parkway and attempted to re-enter the southbound entrance ramp to Interstate 75. While accelerating on the ramp, the driver lost control, struck a guardrail, crashed into a traffic signal control cabinet, and overturned. The driver was ejected from the vehicle. Troopers and EMS personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
