On 07/09/2026, Reno Police officers located a man wanted in connection with a homicide investigation in Montana sitting inside a vehicle at 6255 Sharlands Avenue in Reno. Officers blocked in the vehicle to prevent him from leaving. Shortly afterward, police heard a gunshot and withdrew while requesting additional resources to contain the scene. A short time later, officers confirmed the man had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside the vehicle. He was found in the driver's seat with a gunshot wound to the head. The Washoe County Sheriff's Office and the Regional Narcotics Unit assisted at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
