On 07/11/2026, an adult female passenger was riding in a vehicle driven by a man wanted on a confirmed felony warrant when Bingham County deputies initiated a pursuit near Shelley, Idaho. The vehicle entered Interstate 15 traveling the wrong way before a deputy performed a PIT maneuver as officers attempted to stop the threat to oncoming motorists. The vehicle rolled and both occupants were ejected. The passenger was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries. The Eastern Idaho Critical Incident Task Force, led by Idaho State Police District 6, is investigating the incident.
