OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 07/05/2026, a Georgia State Patrol trooper attempted to stop the driver of a Chrysler 300 traveling southbound on Interstate 75 near Jonesboro Road in Clayton County. Authorities have not disclosed the reason for the attempted traffic stop. The driver continued driving at a high rate of speed, leading troopers into Henry County. The driver exited onto Eagles Landing Parkway and attempted to re-enter southbound Interstate 75 via the entrance ramp. While accelerating on the ramp, the driver lost control, struck a guardrail, crossed into the gore area, collided with a traffic signal control box, and the vehicle overturned. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts by responding troopers and EMS personnel. The Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
