On 07/04/2026, El Mirage Police Department officers responded to a report of domestic violence near Cactus Road and El Mirage Road in El Mirage, Arizona. According to police, officers encountered 35-year-old Peter Patin Jr. and deployed conducted energy devices to subdue him and remove him from the residence. After he was handcuffed, police stated that Patin continued kicking at officers while being restrained. During the encounter, he became unresponsive. Officers began CPR until fire department personnel arrived and transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the official cause and manner of death.
