On 07/15/2026, Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies responded to the area of Diablo Drive and Andrea Boulevard after reports of a stabbing. Investigators said Robert Lomas stabbed a woman in her 60s and her adult daughter, leaving one with life-threatening injuries and the other with serious injuries. Deputies located Lomas nearby and shot him during the encounter. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The two injured women were transported to a hospital. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office and the California Department of Justice are investigating the shooting.
