On 08/02/2026, Willoughby Police Department officers responded to a domestic violence call at a residence on Lost Nation Road. Police reported Jason Anthony Green was armed with a knife and threatening a resident with whom he had a romantic relationship. Officers attempted to subdue Green with a conducted energy device, but it was ineffective. Police reported Green continued advancing while armed with the knife, and two officers fired their weapons, striking him. Green was pronounced dead at the scene. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating the shooting.
