On 08/04/2026, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the 4500 block of East Tropicana Avenue after receiving reports of an armed disturbance. During the encounter, 47-year-old Eric Adams exchanged gunfire with officers, wounding one officer. Additional officers responded, and the confrontation continued until Adams died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The wounded officer was transported to a hospital with injuries reported as non-life-threatening. The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the deceased as Eric Adams. The Critical Incident Review Team is investigating the incident. No body-camera footage has been publicly released.
