OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 07/13/2026, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Warren County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Kentucky Highway 185 to assist first responders with a medical call involving 24-year-old Hayden Logsdon. Deputies contacted Logsdon, who was placed inside an ambulance, and the deputies then cleared the scene.

Approximately 40 minutes later, authorities received another 911 call reporting that Logsdon had left the ambulance and was walking along Kentucky Highway 185. While deputies were searching for him, a third 911 caller reported that a person was attempting to break into a residence along the highway. Deputies responded to the residence, encountered Logsdon and took him into custody.

Deputies transported Logsdon to a hospital in a Warren County Sheriff's Office vehicle. According to the Sheriff's Office, Logsdon was found unresponsive upon arrival at the hospital. He was admitted for medical treatment and died at the medical facility on 07/15/2026. Kentucky State Police initially incorrectly reported that Logsdon died in Sheriff's Office custody on 07/14/2026, but subsequently corrected the timeline and confirmed that he became unresponsive while in custody and died at the hospital the following day.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office requested an independent investigation immediately after Logsdon was found unresponsive. Kentucky State Police Post 3 subsequently requested the KSP Critical Incident Response Team, which is leading the investigation. The Sheriff's Office is conducting a separate internal review.
