OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 08/11/2026, at approximately 10 a.m., Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to a residence on Pleasant Avenue in South Minneapolis to execute a felony arrest warrant. A woman at the residence confirmed that the man named in the warrant was inside.
Deputies encountered the man armed and holding a firearm to his head. Deputies attempted to negotiate with him, during which he sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound; deputies rendered emergency medical aid, but he died at the scene. No deputies fired their weapons.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the death.
