NARRATIVE:
On 07/19/2026, a 46-year-old man died during an hours-long Los Angeles Police Department SWAT barricade and structure fire at a townhome at 5720 N. Owensmouth Avenue in Woodland Hills, California. His remains were found inside the burned residence after SWAT officers were eventually able to secure the scene.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., a woman went to LAPD's Topanga Station and reported that her husband had severely beaten and raped her. Officers responded to the couple's townhome to investigate and take the man into custody. The man remained inside and would not come out.
