Two FBI agents, Daniel Alfin and Laura Schwartzenberger, were killed and three others wounded when they arrived to execute a search warrant at an apartment in connection with a child pornography case. David Lee Huber reportedly shot and killed himself following the attack.

Around 5 p.m., officers from the Titusville Police Department responded to reports of shots fired at 521 Rock Pit Road in Titusville, Florida. Upon arrival, they found Lorenzo Juan Bradley, 36, of Sanford, dead from an apparent gunshot wound. The alleged gunman, Prescott Eric Lillie Jr., 35, of Titusville, fled into a nearby apartment and refused to exit. Police established a perimeter around the apartment, and upon entering the unit later, found Lillie dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Deputies from the Citrus County Sheriff's Office responded around 9:45 a.m. to multiple 911 calls reporting a man, Steven Verdone, behaving erratically and running in and out of traffic near the Marathon Gas station at 6241 W Cardinal Street in Homosassa, Florida. Verdone was yelling at people near the locked entrance to the convenience store and attempted to enter before the deputy's arrival. As the deputy exited his cruiser, Verdone approached while armed with a knife. The deputy shot and killed Verdone during the encounter.

Around 2 a.m., Fort Myers Police Department officers responded to multiple reports of gunshots at 2102 Dora Street in Fort Myers, Florida. Upon arrival, they were met with gunfire from an individual who then barricaded himself inside the residence for over 12 hours. At approximately 10 a.m., two people fled the home without injury. Officers deployed less-lethal weapons and gas before breaching the residence. Inside, they discovered a semi-automatic rifle, a handgun, and the individual dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On 01/20/2021, Charlotte County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of gunfire at a residence on Great Falls Terrace in Port Charlotte and found a woman fatally shot inside a vehicle in the driveway. Deputies determined Allyn Harry Harris had fired multiple rounds into the vehicle and then retreated into the home, initiating a prolonged armed standoff. Deputies deployed aviation support, SWAT units, and negotiators while establishing a perimeter and ordering nearby residents to shelter in place. After hours of attempted contact and tactical operations, deputies entered and located Harris deceased inside the residence from a self inflicted gunshot wound. Reporting described the scene as part of an active homicide investigation tied to the earlier fatal shooting in the driveway.

A deputy from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office was pursuing suspected car thieves when he drove his SUV in reverse, striking and killing pedestrian Barry Fick, 59. The incident occurred at the intersection of US-19 and Ulmerton Road in Largo, Florida.

Deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office responded to 102071 Overseas Highway in Key Largo, Florida. Upon arrival, they knocked on the door and announced their presence. Travis Lee Lewanski, 28, then shot and killed himself inside the residence.

Around 2:30 a.m., Homestead Police responded to a burglary-in-progress call at a home located at 100 NE Civic Court in Homestead, Florida. Officers began blocking off the area and reportedly saw a man running away. La Garion Smith, 27, allegedly produced a firearm and shot at the Homestead officers. In response, the officers shot and killed him.

Around midnight, deputies from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office responded to a home following a 911 call reporting a man threatening to shoot a woman and their 1-year-old son. The victim escaped to a neighbor's house, but the child remained inside the home with Amir Keita Stevens, 29, when deputies arrived. As deputies approached, Stevens fled the home, got into his car, and drove away. The child was unharmed. During the pursuit, Stevens lost control of his vehicle, ran off the road, and collided with an MCAT bus stop, a power pole, and two trees, resulting in his death.
