On May 4, 2025, Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Officer Patrick Burke responded to a domestic disturbance call at the Normandy Estates Mobile Home Park. A woman reported that her boyfriend, Michael Lee Wright, had attacked her earlier that day. Upon arrival, Officer Burke encountered Wright, who aggressively confronted the officer by attacking the patrol vehicle and jumping onto its hood. Wright then charged at Officer Burke with an object in his hand, later identified as a pair of scissors. Despite repeated commands to drop the weapon, Wright continued his assault. On May 1, 2025, around 9:30 p.m., a Chattahoochee police officer initiated a pursuit of a 2016 Lincoln MKX SUV for a suspected drug offense on U.S. Highway 90. Police chase the vehicle until it crossed county lines into Sneads, Florida, reaching speeds of 130 mph, and the occupants were seen throwing meth and other drugs from the vehicle. The vehicle lost control turning onto Old Spanish Trail, struck a manhole, flipped, and hit construction equipment. The 40-year-old male driver from Camilla, Georgia, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. A 32-year-old male passenger was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol is leading the investigation.

On May 1, 2025, Orlando police officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a man waving a gun near a 7-Eleven and other nearby businesses along Conroy Road. The man, identified as 25-year-old Orlin Manuel Bueso Calderon, was seen entering a dry cleaners and walking through a strip mall parking lot while holding what appeared to be a handgun.Officers located Calderon in the parking lot of the Bella Vita Apartments at 4620 Cason Cove Drive. Five officers opened fire, fatally striking him. The weapon recovered at the scene was determined to be a simulated firearm resembling a Glock handgun, possibly a BB or pellet gun. On the night of February 6, 2025, an armed robbery occurred at a Mobil Gas Station located at the corner of 267A and Shiloh Road in Gadsden County, Florida. During the incident, a man shot four individuals, resulting in two fatalities and two injuries. The man fled the scene, prompting a multi-agency manhunt. In the early hours of February 7, law enforcement officers, including those from the Florida Highway Patrol and Suwannee County Sheriff's Office, pursued the vehicle into Suwannee County. The chase concluded near US 90 West and Goldkist Boulevard in Live Oak, where the vehicle crashed his vehicle. Upon exiting, he fired at officers, injuring a Suwannee County deputy. Officers returned fire, resulting in the man's death.

OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On February 6, 2025, officers from the Clermont Police Department responded to a shooting at the Cottonwood Apartments in Clermont, Florida.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that Christian Filson had shot and killed his girlfriend before barricading himself inside the apartment.
When officers attempted to breach a locked door, Filson opened fire, forcing officers to retreat.
A SWAT team was deployed, and after a standoff, Filson was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
No officers were injured during the incident.
