Officers arrived at the residence shortly after 9 p.m. and observed Parrott inside, with a young child briefly running outside before running back inside. The mother, holding a child, was seen near the door while Parrott stood behind her.

Upon arrival, officers issued verbal commands for Parrott to drop the firearm he was reportedly holding. Instead of complying, Parrott raised the firearm and aimed it at officers. An officer fired one round, striking Parrott in the chest. The entire encounter lasted 48 seconds.

Parrott was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and remained in intensive care. He faces multiple felony charges, including intimidation with a deadly weapon, domestic battery, neglect of a dependent, and animal cruelty.
