A Springfield PD officer was stopped at a red light on 42nd Street and Main Street when they saw a dark-colored Range Rover pass him eastbound on Main Street. Police tried to chase it but temporarily lost track of it. They said the car was going 80-90 miles per hour. Police began searching for the car when they said they got a 911 call about a car crash in the 3800 block of Highway 126. Officials said they arrived “within seconds,” to find the driver of the Ranger Rover dead. Of note, officers can only be at a crash site within seconds if they are actively pursuing the vehicle prior to the crash.

On November 19, 2022, at approximately 12:24 a.m., Portland Police Bureau officers responded to a reported armed robbery near Southeast Powell Boulevard and 50th Avenue. Officers pursued a vehicle they believed matched the description to the Reedwood Friends Church parking lot at 2901 SE Steele Street. As officers approached, Immanueal “Manny” Clark, a 30-year-old Black male, fled on foot. Officer Christopher Sathoff fired three shots, striking Clark once in the lower back. Clark was transported to a hospital, where he died two days later.

Subsequent investigations revealed that Clark was unarmed and not connected to the reported robbery. A grand jury declined to indict Officer Sathoff. However, an internal affairs investigation found the shooting violated bureau directives, though command staff later dismissed this finding. Clark's family has filed a federal lawsuit alleging excessive force and wrongful death.

Honeycutt fled on foot but was apprehended by Deputy Roach. During the struggle, Honeycutt claimed to have a gun and refused to show his hands. Deputy Jansen Bento observed a revolver in Honeycutt's possession and, fearing for his safety, fired three shots, striking Honeycutt in the chest. Despite life-saving efforts, Honeycutt was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle was later confirmed to be stolen.

Kenneth William Peden III fled the scene with Taylor in a white Ford F-150 truck.

Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Marion County Sheriff's Office, the Silverton Police Department, and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, escalated a chase during which police engaged in a shootout. Taylor was found with a gunshot wound and transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries on May 19, 2021. Police have not disclosed who shot and killed Taylor during the shootout.
