Lisa Ann Short, a 54-year-old White female, was shot and killed by officers from the Kingsport Police Department on July 1, 2021, in Kingsport, Tennessee. Officers responded to a call from a resident at the Westside Inn around 5:20 a.m. The caller reported that a woman with a gun was banging on his door. Upon arrival, officers encountered Short, who was reportedly armed with a gun. Police stated that she failed to comply with orders to drop the weapon, and officers shot and killed her.

Wallace "Walo" Lee Morris, a 42-year-old Black male, was killed in a traffic collision on June 25, 2021, in Memphis, Tennessee. An off-duty Memphis Police Department officer, Antonio Marshall, was driving a 2019 Dodge Charger eastbound on Walnut Grove Road at a high rate of speed when he struck a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville near Timber Creek Drive. The impact killed Morris and 19-year-old Travis Parham, who were in the Bonneville. Marshall’s vehicle was reportedly moving at 99 mph in a 45 mph zone. Marshall sustained non-critical injuries and was taken to Regional One Hospital.

Michael Anthony Frederick, a 54-year-old White male, was shot and killed by deputies from the Bradley County Sheriff's Office on June 25, 2021, in McDonald, Tennessee. Deputies responded to a mental health call at the 200 block of Spring Branch Road. Upon arrival, Frederick reportedly had a weapon out, and deputies fatally shot him.

Nathaniel "Nate" Damien Raabe, a 48-year-old male, was shot and killed by deputies from the Macon County Sheriff's Office on June 15, 2021, in Westmoreland, Tennessee. Deputies responded to a report of a man with a gun acting irrationally and frightening residents. Upon arrival, they encountered Raabe with a rifle. He reportedly fired at deputies. They opened fire. Raabe then retreated inside the home. When additional deputies arrived, Raabe exited the home, initially put the rifle to his head, and then fired on deputies again, striking Sgt. Petty twice. Deputies opened fire, killing Raabe.

Adam Michael Green, a 40-year-old White male, died on June 14, 2021, in Hermitage, Tennessee, following an encounter with Mt. Juliet Police Department officers. Officers responded to a 911 call reporting an "unruly guest" at a home. A woman claimed an unknown man had entered her home, was sweating profusely, destroying property, and not speaking clearly. Officers believed Green exhibited signs of a substance overdose or impairment. When Green became combative, officers tasered him, restrained him, and handcuffed him. Shortly after, officers noticed Green had become unresponsive and determined he was deceased.

The pursuit ended in a two-car crash that resulted in the death of one driver and a passenger. The crash occurred during a police pursuit, and the case remains under investigation.

On April 2, 2021, deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office pursued a blue Chevrolet driven by 38-year-old Daniel Peak at speeds up to 90 miles per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone. The chase continued onto Highway 60 near the Blythe Ferry boat ramp, where the vehicle left the roadway and plunged into the Tennessee River. The passenger, 36-year-old Dewleen Self of McCaysville, Georgia, drowned after the vehicle overturned in the water. The driver was taken into custody.

While traveling north on South Willow Avenue in Cookeville, Tennessee, their vehicle was struck on the passenger side by a 2020 Toyota Tacoma driven by 25-year-old Michael Don Shepherd, who was fleeing from Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers. The collision occurred at the intersection of Interstate Drive and South Willow Avenue. The child died at the scene.

While traveling north on South Willow Avenue in Cookeville, Tennessee, their vehicle was struck on the passenger side by a 2020 Toyota Tacoma driven by 25-year-old Michael Don Shepherd, who was fleeing from Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers. The collision occurred at the intersection of Interstate Drive and South Willow Avenue. The child died at the scene.

A 2020 Toyota Tacoma, driven by 25-year-old Michael Don Shepherd, was fleeing from Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers and ran a red light at the intersection of Interstate Drive and South Willow Avenue, striking the passenger side of Chatman's 2012 Nissan Versa. Amanda Chatman and her two sons died at the scene.
