On October 2, 2025, at approximately 6:20 a.m., Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to a barricade situation at a residence in the 1600 block of Royal Palm Drive in west Las Vegas. Officers attempted to negotiate with an armed individual who refused to come out of the home. After several hours, police entered and found the individual dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

On 09/25/2025, at approximately 1:20 a.m., deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to reports of men with guns near American Heroes Park at Jackman Street and Kettering Street. Upon arrival, a deputy located a man and engaged in a foot pursuit into the park. The man produced a handgun and shot himself in front of law enforcement. CPR was performed by deputies and emergency responders, but he died at the scene. The park was secured as a crime scene while investigators searched for additional suspects, who remain unidentified.
