OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
ucson Police engaged Jesus Mendivil in a pursuit following a domestic violence incident. Mendivil eventually barricaded himself in a vehicle, allegedly firing at officers. SWAT responded, and after unsuccessful negotiations, they moved to breach the vehicle. During the standoff, Mendivil died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Pima Regional Critical Incident Team is overseeing the investigation into the events surrounding the confrontation.
