On March 27, 2025, at approximately 4:45 a.m., Kentucky State Police (KSP) responded to a call for assistance from the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office regarding a disturbance at a mobile home park on 2nd Street in Warsaw, Kentucky. Upon arrival, officers encountered 54-year-old James E. Walter, who was reportedly firing a gun into the air outside his residence. To ensure the safety of residents, the mobile home park was evacuated. Walter continued to discharge his firearm inside his home and made verbal threats toward law enforcement officers. Despite attempts to deescalate the situation through negotiation, Walter opened his door and displayed a firearm, prompting members of the KSP Special Response Team to engage him, resulting in fatal injuries. No officers were injured during the incident. The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team is conducting an ongoing investigation into the shooting.

On March 27, 2025, St. Joseph Police officers attempted to stop a vehicle reported as stolen. The driver, accompanied by 18-year-old Brayden M. Robertson, led officers on a pursuit that concluded when the vehicle crashed in the 2500 block of Penn Street. While the driver was apprehended at the scene, Robertson fled on foot. During the ensuing foot pursuit. Police engaged in a shootout and killed Robertson. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the incident, and upon completion, findings will be forwarded to the Buchanan County Prosecutor's Office for review.

On March 26, 2025, San Diego Police responded to reports of a man pointing a gun at pest control and construction workers in the Scripps Ranch neighborhood. Officers arrived at the 11600 block of Angelique Street and ordered the man to drop his weapon. The 59-year-old male allegedly advanced toward officers while holding a semi-automatic pistol. SWAT officers opened fire and killed him. A knife was also found in his possession. No officers or civilians were injured.

A 43-year-old man was found unconscious and unresponsive inside a holding cell at Manhattan Criminal Court at 100 Centre Street on the morning of March 26, 2025. He had been arrested hours earlier inside the Times Square subway station. EMS transported him to NewYork-Presbyterian-Lower Manhattan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The NYPD Force Investigation Division is investigating. This was the second such in-custody death reported in the same week in New York City.

On March 26, 2025, multiple law enforcement agencies executed a drug-related search warrant at a home on Kestrel Court in Olivehurst. During the operation, a man inside the residence exchanged gunfire with officers. Marysville Police Officer Osmar Rodarte was shot and later died at a hospital. On March 23, 2025, Christian Black was arrested by Englewood police after allegedly crashing a stolen vehicle on Interstate 70, following a robbery in Beavercreek. He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail around 6 a.m. On March 24, at approximately 1:50 a.m., jail staff found Black unresponsive in his cell. Upon opening the cell door, Black reportedly leapt up and engaged in a physical altercation with multiple corrections officers and deputies. Staff used a Taser to subdue him, after which he was treated by medical staff and placed in a cell for monitoring. Later that morning, Black allegedly began striking his head against his cell door. Staff intervened, leading to another struggle where pepper spray and a Taser were used before restraining him in a chair. While awaiting medical transport, Black's condition deteriorated, and he went into cardiac arrest. He was pronounced dead at the hospital on March 26. The Dayton Police Department and the Montgomery County Coroner's Office are investigating the incident. Black's family has expressed concerns regarding the circumstances of his death and is conducting their own investigation.

Upon attempting to assist him, Black reportedly became combative, leading to the use of force, including a taser and pepper spray, to subdue him. Later, Black placed in a restraint chair. He subsequently went into cardiac arrest, was transported to a hospital, and was pronounced dead on March 26. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has requested an independent investigation by the Dayton Police Department. Black's family has also initiated an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Around 2:45 a.m., Buchanan Police attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving in the wrong lane on Front Street. The driver did not stop. Police escalated a chase onto South Redbud Trail. After crossing railroad tracks, the vehicle went airborne, hit a tree, and crashed into a house near Hobart Street. The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No one in the home was injured. The Michigan State Police Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating.

Arkansas State Police chased a white Dodge Ram after the driver, Torkilo Hambrick, failed to stop for a traffic violation near mile marker 173. Police escalated the chase along Interstate 40 at speeds exceeding 120 miles per hour. Near mile marker 191, an Arkansas State Police trooper conducted a PIT maneuver—a tactic known to be potentially lethal at speeds above 35 mph—causing the truck to overturn and crash. Laterrika Woods, the 29-year-old sister of Memphis rapper Big Boogie, was a passenger in the vehicle. She was ejected during the crash and died at the scene. Two other passengers were seriously injured. Experts have long warned that PIT maneuvers at speeds above 35 mph carry an extreme risk of fatality, and at 100+ mph, the probability of a deadly outcome is considered astronomically high.

On March 25, 2025, 6-year-old Mianna Roach was killed during a police pursuit in Anson County. Authorities say her father, Michael Rufus Roach, abducted her at gunpoint from a home in Polkton and fled in a Jeep Liberty. After a brief phone call with deputies, Roach failed to appear at an arranged return location. Deputies located and pursued his vehicle until it crashed near Little Creek Road. Inside the vehicle, Mianna was found fatally shot. Roach had also shot himself and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The case is being investigated as a murder-suicide attempt.

Louis Michael Hill, 26, of Rogersville, was shot and killed after robbing a PNC Bank in Florence and fleeing in a vehicle. Florence Police and Lauderdale County deputies pursued Hill onto Highway 72. His vehicle became disabled near County Road 323. Hill exited and attempted to carjack another vehicle while armed. He opened fire on police, and officers shot and killed him. A Florence firefighter, Grace McClusky, was struck by gunfire after stopping to assist at the crash. One officer was also injured. Both were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating.

Cedrick Turner, 49, died on March 25, 2025, in a single-vehicle crash during a police chase. Thomas County deputies were pursuing Turner after a hit-and-run incident in Colquitt County. The chase reached speeds of 100 mph. Near Thomas County Middle School on Highway 319 North, deputies attempted to disable Turner’s vehicle. On March 25, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m., 53-year-old inmate Michael Anthony Johnson suffered a medical emergency at the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham, Alabama. Jail medical staff responded immediately, and Johnson was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:10 p.m. Johnson had been booked into the jail on March 21, 2025, on charges of third-degree burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is conducting an investigation into his death, and the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause of death.

Around 7:40 a.m. on March 23, 2025, a juvenile called 911 reporting her mother was being assaulted and kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend, who was armed. The man forced the woman into a Mercedes sedan and drove away from an apartment complex on Oro Vista Road. Officers from the San Diego Police Department pursued the vehicle and deployed spike strips on Tocayo Avenue. After the vehicle stopped, the woman escaped. The man then shot and killed himself in the vehicle as police surrounded the scene.

They found a woman outside with visible injuries who said her boyfriend, Manuel Alvarez, was inside armed with a gun.
