OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
A man walked into the bank and demanded money from a teller and then left on a motorized scooter and drove the scooter to a semi-truck that was parked nearby. Police followed him in the semi and he stopped at a truck stop. The standoff with police lasted about 8 hours. The Illinois State Police SWAT team and Crisis Negotiating Team were called in to help. The man finally committed suicide under police duress.
