Pope County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the home of Bryan Nygard to arrest him for a prior domestic violence event. He allegedly stood up and fired a shot, killing Deputy Joshua Owen around 7:30 p.m. on 04/15/2023 at an apartment in Cyrus. Deputies shot and killed Nygard.
