OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

une 21, 2024, at approximately 9:40 p.m., officers from the Craig Police Department and the Moffat County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a man with a handgun at the Cedar Mountain Trailer Park, 925 W. 1st Street, Craig, Colorado. Upon arrival, they encountered 27-year-old Jesus Fuentes Vega, who was armed with a handgun. During the confrontation, officers discharged their weapons, fatally wounding Vega. He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The involved officers, identified as Officer Nathan Baker of the Craig Police Department and Deputy Conner Pogline of the Moffat County Sheriff's Office, were placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard procedure for officer-involved shootings. The 14th Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team is leading the investigation into this incident.
