OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 02/26/2022, Cheyenne Police officers responded to a report that a woman was using methamphetamine at Wyoming Downs, 3617 E Lincolnway. Officers made contact, and the woman drove away in another person’s vehicle. Cheyenne Police and Laramie County deputies escalated a pursuit through Cheyenne at high speed.
Deputies deployed spike strips to stop the vehicle. After the vehicle came to a stop, officers approached. The woman shot herself inside the vehicle. She was transported for medical care and later died from the gunshot wound.
Authorities did not release her name. The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation reviewed the incident under standard protocol.
