OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
Akron PD were sent to Ritchie Avenue and Orrin Street after a 911 call that ended abruptly. A total of eight Akron officers arrived and handcuffed and questioned to men who were about to leave the home. Police located the person who had called 911. The person said that there was a man with a gun inside with another man. The armed man, Lawrence Rodgers, came out of the home and allegedly had his hands and also a weapon visible. Police shot him. He reportedly retreated inside of the home, shot the second person and then died from the injuries of the police shooting.
