OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 07/11/2024, Sulphur Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 600 block of South Kent Street. Officers learned that 37-year-old Mark Alan Hayden Jr. had left on foot. Officers established a perimeter and began a search.

At approximately 5:20 p.m., they located Hayden in a nearby shed. Police engaged him in an altercation during which they opened fire, fatally wounding him. He was pronounced deceased near the shed. The Louisiana State Police is investigating.
